Christmas Costumes For Kids

Christmas costumes for kids make an already special holiday even more special. Around the tree in the morning or at a special Christmas party your kids will be the best dressed. One scenario for a truly memorable Christmas party is not only dress up you kids in costumes but center everything on a central theme.

A very simple and fun theme would be to make a Gingerbread House the center of attention.

There is a lot to bring together for the holiday season and planning the Christmas decor is all part of the fun. When family and friends visit, you want your home to be welcoming and comfy. Most people like traditional decorations and that includes a tree of course.

But, the tree is not the only decoration that can be the center of attention.  To start, your entire family could be dressed up as reindeer. You don’t need much- just a set of antlers for each person. These can be found in your local dollar store or I have seen them in the grocery store for sale.

Your next project you may want to create is a gingerbread house.  Finding a unique and appropriate sized gingerbread house makes a great Christmas table decoration idea. Not only will it look and smell appealing to your guests, but it will bring out the child in everyone. Who doesn’t love a gingerbread house? You can buy one pre-made but it is fun for the whole family to make one.

Gingerbread houses have been around for generations but this holiday decorating tradition is often overlooked. There are many ways to decorate your family’s gingerbread house once you make the basic structure. You can buy kits at the grocery store for the basic structure or if you are a bit more adventurous you can make one from scratch.  You will need a template, icing, cake batter and many different types of candies to make your gingerbread house spectacular.

What type of Christmas costumes for kids will you need to go alone with the gingerbread theme?  Of course, a cute gingerbread man outfit. The only place I have even seen these is online but you may be able to make one if you are very handy with sewing.

Now that you have your tree up and the gingerbread house made it is time to think about the type of music you will be playing in the background of the festivities.  Our memories are very closely tied to songs. For many people, some of the most powerful and inspirational feelings come from warm memories of music during the holiday season. Christmas music is a wonderful part of the year. The holiday songs are engaging and they remind us of many emotions and loving memories.

The next simple thing that you can do is place bowls of candy around the house. Many candy manufactures make special candies for the Christmas holiday. If you don’t have any fancy dishes go shopping at a second hand store and you will find things that have been gently loved by other people.  Candy canes and other candies can be purchased very inexpensively. Make sure to put some of the types of candies you used on the gingerbread house in the bowls to tie the theme together.

You’ve got all the kids dressed up in Christmas costumes for kids, the tree is up, your gingerbread house is looking not only beautiful, but very edible,  and the music is playing in the background with special candy treats all around. Now you are set to keep decorating and cooking and waiting for the big day to arrive.  We’ve all been to lavish holiday parties in which there were decorations galore.  You can set up your home that way or make it simple and fun.  Personally,   I prefer, simple and fun.
